I don't know about you, but in my case, we set goals for each year. Perhaps 2019 is the right time to delve into a methodology to awaken the kundalini (last week we explained what kundalini is).
Here we present 9 ways that over the centuries have served to elevate the state of human consciousness.
1) By birth: beings can be brought into this world with a higher level of consciousness, whose kundalini energy has already begun to rise, located in one of the chakras (e.g., Manipur) or completely awakened.
2) By mantra repetition: it is a slow awakening through the repetition of a mantra, facilitated by a teacher, which permeates everything and whose vibration awakens the kundalini. It can be done mentally (manasik japa) or verbally (sumirani japa).
3) Yamas: it is a very slow awakening; each of the yamas, dictated in the Yoga Sutra, is a path to awaken the kundalini by burning impurities and depending on the nature of the gunas (sattvic, rajasic, or tamasic); focused on the release of the negative and constant attention.

4) Ausbadi: it is very fast for highly purified individuals but at the same time dangerous, consisting of taking certain drugs, guided by a trusted guru, to awaken a higher consciousness. For example: ayahuasca on a full moon.
5) Raja yoga: it is slow, sequential, and suitable for individuals of a sattvic nature, consisting of merging individual consciousness with cosmic consciousness.
6) Pranayama: fast, explosive... accompanied by a retreat, minimal diet, practicing the shatkarmas, living apart from society, in a place with purified air (e.g., Himalayas). Pranayama sessions are very long, consisting of directing energy to the chakras using the vayus.
7) Kriya yoga: gentle awakening for everyone, originating from Babaji in India, passed from teacher to disciple (Sivananda, Yukteswar to Yogananda, the author of Autobiography of a Yogi) and finally revealed by swami Satyananda. It is a system that includes pratyahara, dharana, and dhyana; based on systematically performed exercises.
8) Tantric initiation: it is a secret path, facilitated by a teacher in left-hand tantra.
9) Shaktipat (the master's touch): fast, a master transmits his energy to you and awakens your kundalini; elevating your state of consciousness.
